General David Petraeus Speaks to Kiwanis Members

General Petraeus opened his remarks by saying, “I want to commend you of the Kiwanis Club for all that you do to serve disadvantaged children here in the local community.  Organizations like yours composed of individuals dedicated to serving the people around them and strengthening their communities, help keep our country strong.  I am grateful for the work that you do.”

Fischer/Carr Auction Night

After months of planning, the Big Bash arrived on Saturday, June 6, 2009 with much deserved fanfare. With over 140 attendees, the room at St. Petersburg Country Club was jam packed with Kiwanians and their guests.

2008 Christmas Toy Wrap

While under the watchful eye of the Secret Service preparing for Governor Crist's wedding, about a dozen Kiwanians assembled and wrapped Christmas gifts for needy kids.

2008 Playground Construction

Fun popped out of the ground Saturday at Trailhead Park with the help of Jane Baldwin, Cyndi Mulligan and son Colin, Pat Bisciotti, Charles Stuart, Jack Collins, Bill Holloway, Pat Kraujalis, Harry Eisnaugle and friend Paul, and Markus Mittermayr, as well as USF-St. Pete CKI member Shannon Love.      Click here to read more and see pictures.

Project Save-a-Smile - Dr. Ron O'Neal's Dentist Office

For the fourth year in a row, Dr. Ron O’Neal hosted the annual Project Save-A-Smile at his St. Petersburg dental office. Dr. O’Neal and his entire team provided digital x-rays, oral exams, sealants, cleaning and dental restorations while dozens of volunteers entertained the needy kids.

Over 80 members and guests attended to congratulate Markus Mittermayr on a job well done and to usher in Biff Baker as this year’s president.

Over 125 fun-loving guests contributed over $13,000 for the Kiwanis Scholarship Fund during the Jim Fischer Memorial Birthday Bash.

SPECIAL OLYMPICS

Our club and Key Club provided 28 volunteers for The 2008 Special Olympics games that took place at Lakewood High School on Saturday, March 1st.

CHRISTMAS ANGELS GIFTS

Club members donated gifts for 100 foster kids again this year.  Representatives from the Foster Parents' Association of South Pinellas were on-hand to thank the club and collect the gifts. Project Save-a-Smile - Dr. Ron O'Neal's Dentist Office

Approximately 70 needy children actually looked forward to going to the dentist with the help of a Halloween festival atmosphere complete with clowns, balloons, face painting, and members of the Kiwanis Club of St. Petersburg.

SALLie HOUSE easter EGGs-TRAVAGANZA

Our Club chose as its One Day Event to host an Easter Eggs-travanganza for the children of Sallie House on Saturday, April 10th. Sallie House is operated by the Salvation Army providing shelter and care for children who have been removed from their homes because of neglect or abuse and are being moved into the foster care program.

GREAT CHEFS of TAMPA BAY

Ron Scoggins and Kathy Condon, co-Chairs of Young Children Priority One Committee reported that this year's Great Chefs event raised about $100,000 for Family Resources to help children in our local community.  Thanks go out to the many Kiwanians who helped out on that day.

Providing dental services for 45 needy youngsters in one day takes a team of volunteers.   The Kiwanis Club of St. Petersburg partnered with Dr. Ron O'Neal to entertain the kids while they waited for their turn with the dentist.

2006 - 2007 KIWANIS CLUB INSTALLATION BANQUET

The Kiwanis Club of St. Petersburg 2006-2007 Installation Banquet held lat the St. Pete Yacht Club was a resounding success with over 100 Kiwanians and their spouses and guests attending. The wine flowed as Kiwanians greeted new members and old and the evening’s business served up abundant humor and bittersweet moments.   Click here to see pictures.

2006 ST. PETERSBURG KIWANIS OPEN

Mulligans, putting strings and other genuine score reducing accessories were used to raise money for St. Petersburg Kiwanis Charities on Saturday, August 19, 2006 at Mangrove Bay Golf and Country Club for the club’s first annual golf tournament.

Members from our club worked over 50 shifts (5 hours each) at the PARC Blues Fest at Vinoy Park in Downtown St. Petersburg.
